Tell us something interesting about your institution IPM is a public health institution under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Public Health in Morocco. The mission of this node is to promote and protect health in Morocco through research and practice in public health. The ultimate goal is the development of knowledge for Moroccan population healthy environment and healthy food safety. IPM conducts research on infectious and parasitic diseases on human, animals and plants; contributes to teaching/training personnel in microbiology and parasitology and prepares or imports serums, vaccines, enzymes and organic products for use in national Human and veterinary health facilities. IPM is a member of the International Pasteur Institutes Network. It is connected to the network through a collaboration agreement that was updated in March 2010. IPM is a member of the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) since 2006.

Dr Fouzia RADOUANI is Immunologist PhD. Since 1990, she worked as Biologist Researcher in the Medical Biology Centre and Research departments of Institut Pasteur du Maroc , Casablanca. Mainly in the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Laboratory. Currently, Dr Radouani is the head of Chlamydiae and Mycoplasma laboratory, her research interest includes Chlamydiae and Mycoplasma infections and their associated diseases: epidemiology, genital infections, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Dr Radouani has been part in many research projects and authored or co-authored many peer-reviewed research articles; she has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences and in some cases helped organizing conferences and meetings. She is also an active member of many scientific associations. Dr Radouani is also interested in Bioinformatics and responsible of Bioinformatics platform implementation in Institut Pasteur du Maroc, she is also supervising MSc and PhD students, develops tools and software’s, initiating collaborations and Networking with professionals in her field worldwide. Since she started getting interested in bioinformatics sciences, she focused her aim to respond to the actual needs in genomic studies, big data analysis, exploration of biological mechanisms and understanding personalized medicine. Dr Radouani wishs being in help to researchers in Institut Pasteur du Maroc.

Dr. Lahcen WAKRIM was awarded his Ph.D. in 1996 in Virology and Immunology from René Descartes University Paris V France. After completion of his degree he was recruited as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institut Pasteur du Maroc. In 2012, he was appointed as the Head of Virology Laboratory at Research Department. His current research interests are focused on the analysis of HIV-1 genomic diversity and monitoring of the emerging mutations associated with HIV-1 resistance to antiretroviral therapy. Dr WAKRIM currently also serves as the vice president of the Institutional Biosafety and Biosecurity Committee.
