What are the main research interests of your institution? HIV/Malaria Drug resistance, metagenomics, epigenetics, Vaccine immunology (HIV-1, Ebola, Yellow Fever, Influenza and TB), emerging and re-emerging infections.

Tell us something interesting about your institution: The Uganda Virus Research Institute has been a centre of excellence for the past 50 years and has a wealth of experience in health research where it has discovered over 50 novel viruses including ZIKA, Yellow Fever and others. The institute also has a high performance computing facility to support advanced bioinformatics analyses.

Tell us something interesting about your city or country? It is referred to as the “Pearl of Africa” and is blessed with the largest inland water body (Lake Victoria) as well as the world’s longest river (River Nile)
