Tell us something interesting about your institution? The University of Abuja classroom is affiliated to the National Biotechnology Development Agency, which  was established to promote, co-ordinate and deploy cutting edge biotechnology research and development processes and products for the well-being of the nation. Some of its main research interests include Microbiome, GWAS (Genome-Wide Association Study), NGS Variant Calling, Population and Quantitative Genetics, Computation and Bioinformatics.

University of Abuja is located in the nation’s capital, Abuja. It’s the first university in Nigeria having a mandate to operate dual-mode admission for regular degree and distance learning. Its one of the foremost institutions involved in Sickle Cell Disease Research with a centre of excellence.

One of the Principal Investigators (PI) in the university has the largest research grant from GSK (Glaxo-Smith Kline) in Africa on cardiovascular disease research. The University is a cosmopolitan institution and just a stone-throw away from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Tell us something interesting about your city or country? Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria surrounded by rocks notably Zuma Rock, Aso Rock. It is also the fastest growing city in Africa.

Nigeria is the most populous black nation in the world. Her citizens are peaceful and sociable. It has a wide range of diverse human and natural resources.
