What are the academic backgrounds of the participants in your classroom? Human Genetics, Chemical Pathology, Pharmacy, Zoology, Anatomy and Medical Microbiology.

What are the main research interests of your institution? Mainly quantitative research with focus areas in: Biodiversity, histology, tissue regeneration, obesity, pharmaceutics, cancer, cardiovascular risks and diseases as well as TB & HIV infections.

Tell us something interesting about your institution? The University of Limpopo is located in a rural area in the Limpopo province of South Africa and aims to “find solutions for Africa” through research and innovation. The University of Limpopo population is diverse, with a very mixed cultural and ethnic backgrounds (i.e. SOVENGA- Sotho, Venda & Tsonga not forgetting the Ndebele, Zulu, Xhosa & Swati).

Tell us something interesting about your city or country? South Africa is a multi-racial rainbow nation, with 11 official languages. The Limpopo province is the located in the Northern part of South Africa with border posts into Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The capital city of the province, Polokwane, is home to the indigenous Pedi, Venda, Tsonga and immigrants from Somalia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria and other African states.
